Qualifying – despite having a bit of understeer in the car we hit the ground running with pole position but only by half a tenth!
Race one – the rain arrived! We managed to get away from pole really well and break to the tow from the get go! From there we made the most of people battling behind and pull away. The car was on rails and we managed to win the race by 7 seconds!
Race two – dry and tricky! After a nasty lap one crash for Chris (glad to see he is all ok) we didn’t get the best restart and dropped to 3rd. From there our race was a lot about car management with trying to control engine temperature and tyre overheating. After a great battle with Neal Clarke we managed to get back up to second but we were very lucky to reach the end with a not very happy front left tyre! Thruxton is very hard on tyres!
Race 3 – proper rain! The heavens opened in race 3 but what a fun race! Every corner was different each time and driving in the limit in these conditions is brilliant fun but also a tad scary
after a great battle with Dan Butcher Lord we managed to come out on top winning by just over 2 seconds!
Overall – absolutely mega weekend, we’re right back up the front in the championship now and feeling positive moving into Pembrey despite it being a track I’ve never been to before!
thank you as always to my amazing partners, team friends and family it wouldn’t be possible to do this without you! Let’s go hunting in Wales in a few weeks!
