Qualifying was incredibly tight and a bit of a step into the unknown with no prior shakedown on the car. Despite that, we put together a strong session and managed to secure pole position by just a few hundredths — a great way to start the weekend.

Race 1

We got away well and led for the majority of the race. The chasing pack stayed close though, using the tow to bunch up and really turn up the pressure. It made for a brilliant race, but unfortunately contact dropped us from the lead down to fourth. We kept pushing and managed to recover back to second, solid start to the season

Race 2

Starting from second, we had another good launch but found ourselves in the wrong place at the wrong time and were forced wide onto the grass, dropping back to eighth. The pace was strong however, and we fought our way back to finish fifth.

Race 3

A very hectic race to end the weekend. Once again, we got boxed in at the start and slipped back to eighth. From there, we worked hard to move through the pack, running between sixth and third for much of the race. Unfortunately, a car ahead lost fourth gear, leaving us with nowhere to go, and contact dropped us back to fifth towards the end.

Summary

A great Saturday but a frustrating Sunday. We showed strong pace throughout the weekend, and while the results don’t fully reflect that, it’s still a solid start to the season with plenty of positives to take away. As allways thank you so much to everyone who makes this possible, team, partners, supporters and friends and family, It’s shaping up to be a close and exciting year bring on Thruxton in five weeks time! And thank you to @jpeimages and Rob foot for the photos!
