Qualifying – tough session, with no track time prior to qualifying it was allways going to be hard. We struggled with understeer and I couldn’t get used to the track quick enough. Still p6 wasn’t terrible but far from ideal
Race one – after some serious head scratching we went a new route on set up and initially it felt better but as the rest went on we struggled with understeer once again. We had a mega start and we got in the mix a little coming home p5
Race two – after completely redirecting our set up back to something we normally use we made some good progress, this time coming home p4
Race three – good step forward! Another progression on the car and myself in the last race of the weekend. It was very race 3 out there with a lot of incidents happening and mixing it with the cooper s cars, but was pleased to come with a podium in p3
Summary – it was a tough one and all our work at Thruxton has been undone with a big chunk of points to find as we head into the last two weekends. But I’m still very pleased and proud of how much progress we made through the weekend finding over a second in laptime from quali to race 3. Ultimately we weren’t quick enough this weekend but we will be back fighting harder than ever at snetterton in 3 weeks time.
